Temple Journal Prompts for Couples

One of the best ways to preserve meaningful experiences is to write them down.

As a couple, we've found that some of our favorite memories come from simple moments surrounding temple visits. Unfortunately, those moments can fade with time if they aren't recorded.

The good news is that journaling doesn't need to be complicated.

Sometimes a single question is enough to spark meaningful reflection and preserve an experience worth remembering.

Here are a few journal prompts couples can use after a temple visit.

Reflecting on the Experience

  • What was your favorite part of today's temple visit?

  • What stood out to you the most?

  • How did you feel during the experience?

  • What is one thing you want to remember from today?

Reflecting on Your Relationship

  • What do you appreciate most about your spouse right now?

  • How has your relationship grown recently?

  • What goal would you like to work toward together?

  • What strengths do you see in your spouse?

Looking Toward the Future

  • Which temple would you like to visit next?

  • What family traditions do you hope to create?

  • What spiritual goals would you like to pursue together?

  • What memories do you hope to look back on years from now?

Simple Is Enough

You don't need to answer every question.

Even a few sentences can become a meaningful record over time.

The purpose of journaling isn't perfection—it's preservation.

Years from now, you'll likely be grateful for every memory you've taken the time to record.

One of the reasons we created My Temple Journey was to provide a place where couples can preserve experiences, set goals, and remember meaningful moments together.

We hope these prompts help you create a record you'll treasure for years to come.
