International travelers can fly into Ponciano Arriaga International Airport (SLP), which serves San Luis Potosí.

A Bit of History
The San Luis Potosí Mexico Temple was announced on April 3, 2022, by President Russell M. Nelson during the April 2022 General Conference. It was announced as part of a group of 17 new temples.
At the time of its announcement, it became the 18th temple in Mexico.
The announcement was particularly significant for members in central Mexico because San Luis Potosí is one of the country's major population and industrial centers.
Temple Site
The Church announced the temple's location on October 31, 2022.
The selected property is a 3.87-acre site at Arboleda 100 in Fraccionamiento del Parque. Plans called for a single-story temple of approximately 9,300 square feet.
The relatively compact building reflects the temple's role as a regional temple serving the local Latter-day Saint population.
Groundbreaking and Construction
The groundbreaking and site-dedication ceremony took place on March 9, 2024.
Elder Sean Douglas of the Mexico Area Presidency presided over the ceremony and offered the site-dedicatory prayer. Religious leaders, government officials, journalists, special guests, and Church members attended.
During the dedicatory prayer, Elder Douglas asked for help for Church members to increase their commitment to keeping their covenants.
The official exterior rendering was released on February 5, 2024, in conjunction with the announcement of the groundbreaking.
Open House and Dedication
The San Luis Potosí Mexico Temple is now approaching its opening.
The public open house is scheduled for September 24 through October 10, 2026, excluding Sundays and Saturday, October 3. A media day is scheduled for September 21, followed by tours for invited guests.
The temple is scheduled to be dedicated on November 1, 2026, by Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The dedication is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., with a rebroadcast at 2:00 p.m.
This means that, as of now, the temple is not yet dedicated or operating.

The temple is in the final stages of preparation for its public opening.

Its single-story design gives it a relatively low profile compared with some of Mexico's larger temples while still providing the recognizable architectural presence associated with Latter-day Saint temples.
