How It All Started
Every product we make starts with the same simple problem: memories fade, even the sacred ones.
A few years ago, we were a young married couple doing what a lot of newly married couples in the Church do — visiting temples together whenever we had the chance. We'd drive to a new temple, spend the day there, feel something meaningful, and then, months later, realize we couldn't quite remember the details anymore. What we talked about in the celestial room. Who we ran into. What made that particular visit different from the last one. The feelings were real, but without something to hold onto, they started to blur together.
We looked for something that could help — a way to actually track the temples we'd visited and, more importantly, hold onto what those visits meant to us. We couldn't find anything that did both. Plenty of trackers existed, but they were just checklists. None of them gave us a place to actually write down the memory. So we decided to build it ourselves.
That's how Brough Made started, and it's still why we exist today. We're not in the business of making generic checklists. We're in the business of helping you preserve a spiritual record of your life, one temple and one memory at a time. Everything we make comes back to that same purpose: give people a tangible way to remember, reflect on, and treasure their journey.
Today, that mission has grown into three books. Here's an introduction to each one, and who we built it for.
My Temple Journey
This is where it all began, and it's still our flagship product. My Temple Journey is a scratch-off keepsake book featuring all 144 temples in the United States — every temple currently in operation, plus every announced temple with an official rendering. As you visit each one, you scratch it off using a coin or scratch tool, revealing the temple underneath, and then record your thoughts, your experiences, and the moments that made that visit meaningful to you.
This book isn't just for one type of person. It's for the young couple building their own tradition of temple visits together, the individual who travels frequently for work or family and wants to make the most of every trip near a temple, and the person who's simply decided that visiting more temples is going to be part of their life for the years ahead. If you're the kind of person who wants your temple visits to add up to something you can look back on — not just a memory that quietly fades — this book was made for you.
My Temple Journey: Utah Edition
Utah is home to more operating and announced temples than any other state in the country, and for a lot of our customers, a full national book felt like more than they needed. So we created a version scaled specifically to Utah.
The Utah Edition works exactly the same way as our flagship book — scratch off each temple as you visit, then record your experience — but it's built around the temples across the state. It's a great fit for Utah residents who are focused on temples closer to home, for families raising kids who will grow up visiting these temples throughout their lives, or for anyone who wants a more focused, right-sized version of the original book without needing to track temples across the entire country.
My Scripture Journey: Book of Mormon Edition
The third book in our collection took the same idea in a different direction. Instead of applying to temple visits, My Scripture Journey: Book of Mormon Edition brings that same scratch-off, reflection-driven format to your journey through the Book of Mormon.
As you read through each book within The Book of Mormon, you scratch it off and record your thoughts, impressions, and what you took away from that section of scripture. It's built for anyone working through a personal study goal — whether that's a individual trying to build a more consistent scripture study habit, a youth working toward a personal reading goal, or a family looking for a way to make scripture study feel a little more tangible and rewarding as they go.
We built this one because we realized the same problem we had with temple visits applies just as much to scripture study. It's easy to read something meaningful and then lose track of what impressed you about it a few months later. This book solves that same problem, just applied to a different kind of journey.
Why We Keep Building
At the core, every product we make is trying to answer one question: how do we help people hold onto the things that matter to them spiritually, instead of letting those experiences slip away with time?
We're a small, husband-and-wife-run company, and we build these books the way we wished a product like this had existed for us when we were first starting out. That means we're not trying to be everything to everyone — we're trying to build a small handful of products that actually do what they're designed to do, and do it well.
