The Londrina Brazil Temple was announced by President Russell M. Nelson during the April 2023 General Conference on April 2, 2023. It will become one of several temples serving the state of Paraná and reflects the continued growth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout Brazil. At the time of the announcement, Brazil was home to more than 1.5 million members in over 2,100 congregations, making it one of the largest Latter-day Saint populations in the world. The official exterior rendering was released on February 12, 2024, and groundbreaking services were held on August 24, 2024, with Elder Mark D.
