How Marriage Inspired the Creation of My Temple Journey
One of the unexpected blessings of marriage has been discovering how much we enjoy pursuing goals together.
Some goals involve work, finances, or travel. Others are more personal and spiritual.
As we began building our life together, we found ourselves talking often about temples we wanted to visit, experiences we hoped to have, and memories we wanted to preserve.
The more we talked about it, the more we realized something was missing.
We wanted a way to remember not only where we had been, but also what those experiences meant to us.
More Than a Destination
Some of our favorite temple memories have very little to do with the temple itself.
They're the conversations during the drive.
The stories shared afterward.
The excitement of visiting somewhere new together.
The lessons learned along the way.
Those moments often become just as meaningful as the destination.
Wanting to Preserve the Journey
Like many couples, we took pictures and occasionally wrote things down.
But over time, we realized how quickly details can fade.
Dates become harder to remember.
Specific experiences become less clear.
Memories that once felt unforgettable become more difficult to recall.
We wanted something that would help us preserve those moments.
Building Something Together
That's when the idea for My Temple Journey began.
We envisioned a place where individuals, couples, and families could track temple visits, record meaningful experiences, and create a keepsake that would grow more valuable with time.
What started as an idea for ourselves eventually became something we wanted to share with others.
Looking Back Someday
When we look through My Temple Journey years from now, we hope we'll remember more than just the temples we've visited.
We hope we'll remember the people, experiences, lessons, and blessings that made each visit meaningful.
That's our hope for every family who uses it as well.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
