Where It's Located

Getting There
The nearest major airport is Ingeniero Aeronáutico Ambrosio L.V. Taravella International Airport (COR), also known as Córdoba International Airport. Travelers from the United States typically connect through major South American hubs such as Buenos Aires, Santiago, São Paulo, or Panama City before continuing to Córdoba. The temple is approximately a 20- to 30-minute drive from the airport, depending on traffic.
A Bit of History
The Córdoba Argentina Temple was announced by President Thomas S. Monson during the October 2008 General Conference. It became the second temple built in Argentina, helping reduce lengthy travel for members throughout central and northern Argentina who had previously attended the Buenos Aires Argentina Temple.
Groundbreaking and site dedication took place on October 30, 2010, with Elder Neil L. Andersen presiding. The property chosen for the temple was a former sports complex adjacent to an existing Church meetinghouse, following an extended acquisition process.
Following a public open house held from April 17 through May 2, 2015, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf dedicated the temple on May 17, 2015, making it the 145th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Design and Architecture
The Córdoba Argentina Temple contains approximately 34,369 square feet of floor space. Its exterior is finished with light gray granite quarried in Córdoba and milled in Buenos Aires, giving the temple a distinctive appearance that reflects local materials. A single attached central spire topped with an angel Moroni statue rises above the building, creating a prominent landmark in the Villa Belgrano neighborhood.
Inside, the temple includes two progressive instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and one baptistry. The temple stands at an elevation of approximately 1,447 feet above sea level and features beautifully landscaped grounds that complement its peaceful setting.
Final Thoughts
The Córdoba Argentina Temple represents an important chapter in the growth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina. By bringing temple worship closer to members throughout central Argentina, it has blessed thousands of Latter-day Saints while standing as a beautiful example of modern temple architecture. Whether you're interested in Church history or visiting temples around the world, the Córdoba Argentina Temple is a meaningful destination in the heart of Argentina.
