Best Utah Temples to Visit: 7 Meaningful Temple Day Trips

One of our favorite things to do as a couple is plan temple trips together. Whether it's a quick afternoon drive or a full-day adventure, some of our favorite memories have come from visiting temples throughout Utah. The drive, the conversations, and the opportunity to worship together make each trip special in its own way.

Utah is blessed with more temples than any other state, making it a wonderful place to set temple goals and create meaningful memories with family and friends.

Here are seven Utah temples we think are especially worth visiting.

1. Brigham City Utah Temple

Nestled in the heart of Northern Utah, the Brigham City Temple offers beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. Its smaller size and stunning grounds make it a wonderful destination for a quiet temple trip.

2. Logan Utah Temple

The Logan Temple is one of the most historic and recognizable temples in the Church. Its unique architecture and rich history make it a favorite destination for many members.

Take time to walk the grounds and appreciate the craftsmanship that has inspired generations.

3. Ogden Utah Temple

With its modern design and convenient location, the Ogden Temple is a great option for families and young adults. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy a meal or spend time together after your visit.

4. Salt Lake Temple

The Salt Lake Temple has long stood as a symbol of faith and dedication. Following its extensive renovation, many members are excited to visit and experience this historic temple once again.

For many Latter-day Saints, visiting the Salt Lake Temple is a meaningful milestone.

5. Provo City Center Temple

Originally built as a tabernacle, this temple has one of the most unique stories of any temple in the Church. Its beautiful architecture and historic character make it a memorable destination.

6. Payson Utah Temple

The Payson Temple is known for its elegant design and beautiful mountain backdrop. Many visitors find the peaceful surroundings make it an ideal place for reflection and worship.

7. St. George Utah Temple

As the first temple completed in Utah, the St. George Temple holds a special place in Church history. The warm climate, beautiful grounds, and rich heritage make it one of the most popular temple destinations in the state.

Tips for Planning a Temple Day Trip

Here are a few things we've learned while planning temple visits:

  • Check temple schedules before traveling.

  • Bring family or friends when possible.

  • Take photos outside the temple grounds to remember the experience.

  • Record meaningful impressions after your visit.

  • Turn the trip into an opportunity to strengthen relationships.

The destination is important, but some of the best memories are made along the way.

Remember the Journey

Every temple visit becomes part of your personal story. Whether you're visiting your local temple or traveling across the state, taking time to record your experiences can help preserve memories that might otherwise fade with time.

That's one of the reasons we created My Temple Journey. We wanted a simple way to remember where we've been, who we were with, and what we learned along the way.

We hope this list inspires you to plan your next temple trip and continue building meaningful memories centered on the temple.
